§ For consumers

When money is tight, juggling creditors makes it worse.

A Temporary Hardship Plan bundles your unsecured debts into one affordable monthly payment, designed against your real income and proposed to each of your creditors on your behalf. We’re a paid service — and we’re honest about when the National Debt Helpline (1800 007 007) is the right first call instead.

§ What this is

A Temporary Hardship Plan is a coordinated set of informal hardship arrangements lodged across all your unsecured creditors at the same time. Each arrangement is a variation under section 72 of the National Credit Code — the same statutory framework that governs hardship requests with banks and BNPL providers. The plan runs for three months. There’s no credit check to apply.

We do the negotiation, the paperwork and the creditor calls. You make one direct debit a month, which we distribute to each creditor on your behalf.

§ Right call if
  • You have three or more unsecured creditors.
  • You’re behind on at least one of them, or about to be.
  • Your situation is genuinely temporary — illness, job change, family event — and you can manage some repayment.
  • You don’t fit Way Forward’s eligibility, or you want a paid service that does the coordination for you.
§ Not the right call if
  • You have one creditor and a stable income — call them directly and lodge a hardship notice. MoneySmart has a template.
  • You qualify for Way Forward — it’s the same coordination, free.
  • Your situation is permanent and your unsecured debts are substantial — Part IX or bankruptcy may be the cleaner end-state. Read the comparison.
§ How it works

Apply in about 15 minutes. We size the plan against the Household Expenditure Measure (HEM) and your essential costs, propose to each creditor, then collect one monthly direct debit that we distribute on your behalf. Creditors have 21 days to respond under section 72.

§ Where we’re up to

We’re running a controlled launch. Hardship Hub provides credit assistance as an authorised representative of Revive Financial Pty Ltd under its Australian Credit Licence. Our membership of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) is in progress. Until that’s formalised, complaints flow through Revive’s scheme, and the National Debt Helpline is available to anyone, anytime, free.

Our authorised-representative posture and the consumer protections it carries are set out in our Financial Services Guide. Who a Temporary Hardship Plan is — and isn’t — built for is in our Target Market Determination.
